<![CDATA[THE COOK COUNTY HUMAN TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE - Task Force Outreach Materials]]>Wed, 25 Mar 2026 13:52:05 -0500Weebly<![CDATA[Outreach Materials That Illustrate Trafficking in a Variety of Venues]]>Wed, 06 Mar 2019 16:30:12 GMThttps://www.cookcountytaskforce.org/task-force-outreach-materials/outreach-materials-that-illustrate-trafficking-in-a-variety-of-venuesInspired by existing materials created by MOSAIC to depict domestic work, farm labor and sex trafficking, the Training Subcommittee enlisted in the help of an illustrator to create specific comic-book-like illustrations depicting human trafficking in a variety of other venues, such as in nail salons, restaurants, massage businesses and traveling sales crews.

The following illustrations depict human trafficking in:
a. Nail Salons
b. Massage Businesses
c. Restaurants

The scenarios depicted in these situations attempt to portray common ways in which folks can be trafficked in these settings and are free of any language so that they can be interpreted visually by folks with any literacy level. Feedback for all of these materials was provided by survivors of human trafficking or workers who work within these settings.

]]><![CDATA[Outreach Materials for Male Survivors of Sex and Labor Trafficking]]>Wed, 08 Nov 2017 17:11:57 GMThttps://www.cookcountytaskforce.org/task-force-outreach-materials/outreach-materials-for-male-survivors-of-sex-and-labor-traffickingThe following outreach materials were created by the task force’s Victim Services Subcommittee to improve general outreach to male survivors. These outreach materials specifically address these scenarios in a way that was nonjudgmental, that acknowledges the stigma associated with coming forward, and that offers support.

The materials include the following:
1)            Typical thoughts about why a male survivor of sex trafficking might hesitate to come forward – and an example of sex trafficking to acknowledge survival sex among youth.
2)            Typical reasons a male survivor of labor trafficking might feel they cannot leave.
3)            A small palm card describing that human trafficking can happen to men to distribute directly to men

This would include school social workers, runaway and homeless youth providers, child welfare staff, as well as anyone who engages with vulnerable youth populations. The tool is meant to be a resource for professionals are looking to begin to have conversations with youth about healthy relationships, in the hopes of identifying potential trafficking situations. ]]><![CDATA[Direct Outreach Materials for Youth]]>Wed, 08 Nov 2017 15:54:10 GMThttps://www.cookcountytaskforce.org/task-force-outreach-materials/direct-outreach-materials-for-youthThe following youth outreach flyer was created by the Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force’s Training Subcommittee. This outreach material draws on empowering language to show youth that there can be a unique way forward, even in times when it seems like there is no way out. It is meant to be given directly to youth when it is safe to do so. It can also be posted in the common areas of offices so that youth can see the information and take down the number anonymously themselves, without actually taking the flyer back with them.
