DNC 2024 Response & Updates

The City of Chicago will be welcoming tens of thousands of people from across the nation for the 2024 Democratic National Convention on August 19-22, 2024. Road access will be restricted around the United Center and McCormick Place leading up and during the event.

We are here to assure you that our 14th Annual Cook County Human Trafficking Conference will not be impacted by the DNC.

However, to ensure the safety and smooth operation of our conference, we have made the following preparations and recommendations for all attendees:

Stay Informed: For the latest information on road restrictions, affected areas, press releases, and event FAQs, we recommend visiting the City of Chicago DNC Public Safety webpage.

Receive Real-Time Updates: Sign up for dedicated DNC alerts to stay informed about live traffic, street closures, and emergency updates. To opt in, TEXT DNC to 2-2-6-7-8-7 or download the Chicago OEMC app.

Proactive Coordination with Security Personnel: Our event staff and venue personnel have thoroughly reviewed IIT Chicago-Kent Security protocols and responses in the unlikely case of a mandatory evacuation. Rest assured, we are fully prepared to handle any unexpected situations.

Ongoing Communication with Local Authorities: Our event staff is actively in communication with the venue’s local police district to keep them informed of our event activities and personnel.

We are committed to providing a safe and engaging conference experience. We look forward to your participation and to welcoming you to Chicago for an enriching and informative event.
