This in-depth piece from Time is just one illustration of how the factors that increase demand for sex work and the factors that lead to sex trafficking are connected. The experiences of Lazenko and the other survivors mentioned in the story reinforce the fact that a victim can be anyone from any background and they highlight some of the common vulnerabilities we know are a part of many sex trafficking survivors’ lived experiences.
